How to update your Facebook status from Google Plus

In my previous post about Google Plus, I discussed about the client apps that allow you to post to Twitter and Facebook from Google Plus. However recently,  I’ve been asked whether there is much simpler way to post to Facebook from Google Plus without the need for a client app. Well, there is. Here are some simple step-by-step instructions on how to update Facebook from Google Plus. Note: Be aware though, you can only use this feature to update your Facebook status and pictures right now.

  • Log into your Facebook account and open
  • Note the email address (look for ‘Upload via Email’ and you will see random characters followed by
  • Copy the email address with the random characters and [email protected] (without the quotes) and then log into your Google Plus Circles page and paste the email address
  • You should now be able to post to Google Plus and Facebook. There is a slight delay though, on posting to Facebook, but no more than a couple of minutes or so

The above steps work from any browser and the Facebook mobile app.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: It’s important you protect your page. If anyone manages to gain access to your Facebook account they will look to copy the secondary ID (random characters and case sensitive email address as described above) into a browser. Access to your mobile page will give a hacker FULL access to your profile to add status updates, upload videos, comment on friends feeds and more.

Safe surfing folks!

#Gaurang# I know you are genuine 🙂 unless you are being spoofed. 🙁 Your WP posting IP is showing up on (however your blog is being hosted in the US on a different IP – which isn’t black listed) for sending Trojans and spam. You might want to find out whether you can delist the IP you posted from – my guess right now is you might struggle to do this. I’ve noticed quite a few servers from India showing up on IP blocking lists, which is a shame for all my genuine Indian friends – big shame as admins will automatically block based on the IP.
