Use Firefox ‘Plugin Check’ to update plugins

Mozilla Firefox uses ‘plugins’ which provide the juice for animation, videos and games. The ‘plugins’ are third-party applications which are integrated into the Firefox browser to enhance a users’ experience. Most people don’t know this, but most ‘plugins’ don’t update automatically.

Why update your plugins? It’s a simple answer! Plugin updates aim to improve performance and security.

If you want to find out which plugins you have, this is what you need to do:

  • Open the Tools menu
  • Choose Add-ons
  • Click the plugins tab

A simple plugin example is Adobe Flash. This allows you to watch animation i.e. video and display flash advertisements. Most users will be familiar with Adobe Flash.

To find out whether your plugins are up-to-date we suggest you visit the Mozilla website at this link: This will automatically scan your PC and tell you which plugins need updating. Cool stuff!

Safe surfing folks!
